BOONEVILLE - Gordon Leon Allred, 80, died Monday, March 28, 2005, at his home. He was born Jan. 1, 1925, in Lee County. He was a self-employed automobile mechanic and a member of Emmanuel United Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and going to junk sales and auctions.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. William Lambert and Bro. Jimmy Childers officiating. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Ruth Reece Allred, whom he married March 2, 1946; a son, Larry Allred and wife, Janice, of Booneville; five daughters, Sylvia Oldham and husband, Ronnie, of Florence, Ala., Edith Moore, Dorthy Dykes and husband, Jerry, all of Booneville, Linda Mayben and husband, Bill, of Tremont, and Brenda Hogue of Corinth; a brother, Henry Allred and wife, Leaner, of Lepanto, Ark.; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; special friends and caregivers, Cathie, Mary, Linda and Samuel of Heritage Hospice, and Joe Shaw.

He was preceded in dath by a brother, Uburn Allred; a sister, Lear Griffith; two grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Harold Moore.

Pallbearers will be Dewayne Moore, Dewayne Hogue, Bobby Lynn Allred, David Hogue, Terry Allred, Elvis Allred and Jeffrey Allred.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Leonard Pratt, Kevin Strickland, J.T. Beard and Perry Edge.
