On Thursday, October 27,2016, Sandra "Sandy" Lynn Myers Saunders passed away at the age of 63. She was born April 7, 1953 in Galveston TX to Roy Preston and Gildred Hazel (Goode) Myers. She was welcomed into heaven by her husband, Clifford Henry "Hank" Saunders. She is survived by her daughters Jo Anne Johnson, Lori Dziuk, and Rebecca Saunders, her sons-in-law Bobby Johnson and Aaron Dziuk, and granddaughters Alexis and Elizabeth Johnson.

Sandy was very active in Girl Scouts for many years and taught many young ladies a love for nature and self-confidence. At Rice University, she coordinated the works of several recognized scientists and the students with whom they worked. After moving to Canyon Lake in the spring of 2015, she worked with children through the PTA's of the local elementary schools. She will be missed greatly by many in the communities that she so gladly served.

Visitation will be at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in Canyon Lake on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 12 PM - 1PM. The funeral service will follow at 1:30PM. Interment will follow at Mountain Valley Cemetery in Sattler. Details on Sandy's celebration of life are to be announced.
