Stephen Patrick James, 62, of Winchester, died Monday, October 31, 2016 at Winchester Medical Center.
He was born July 17, 1954 in Leesburg, VA, the son of Hillary N. Sr. and Mary E. Marcus James.
As a young man, Stephen worked for the city of Winchester for 25 years. He then worked for Belks in maintenance and as a surveyor assistant.
Stephen was a very gifted musician composing and playing music his entire life, until a stroke left him without the ability to play his instruments. He leaves behind a large collection of music he wrote and recorded.
He is survived by his mother; a brother, Hillary N. James Jr. and his wife Belinda and their two children, Matthew and Jennifer of Frederick, MD, a sister, Nancy E. Hunter and her son Stanley of Tulsa, OK, a brother Wilbur N. James, (where-about unknown) and his daughter Anne Marie Shipman and her husband Jim of Winchester, VA.
He was preceded in death by his father Hillary N. James Sr. and his step-father, Orlan C. Hepner
