Widow of late Walter Ellis succumbs following six months illness.
Mrs. Emma Ellis, widow of Walter Ellis former local blacksmith, died at home at 1006 S 11th St. at 105 AM today following illness of six weeks. She was 58 years of age at the time of her death and had wide acquaintanceship hi
ere, her death being mourned by many relatives and friends.
Mrs Ellis was born in Kansas City, Kansas, and later moved with her parents to Wyandotte where at the age of 18 she united in marriage with Walter Ellis. the couple moved to Iowa 25 years ago and settled in Centerville, later moving to a farm west of the city, then to Udell and back to Centerville some 14 years ago.
Ten children were born to Mr. and Mrs Ellis. Two of whom, Elsie and Nellie Marie, preceded the mother in death. Surviving children are, Mrs. Hugh Price of Kansas City, Kansas, Mrs James Doggett of Boulder, Colorado, Mrs. Frank Hollingsworth of Des Moines, Mrs Lloyd Henderson of Route 1 Centerville, George of Columbia, Missouri, Ed Henry and Geneva at home. The husband preceded Mrs. Ellis in death 12 years ago.
Mrs Ellis was a member of the Baptist church and was a loving mother and kind friend. Funeral Arrangements are pending and will be announced later.
