William Park Armstrong earned his bachelor's and master's degree at Princeton University and a further graduate degree from Princeton Theological Seminary. He did further studies at the German Universities of Marburg, Berlin, and Erlangen, before further graduate studies back at Princeton Theological Seminary. In 1900 he was ordained into the Presbyterian Church (USA). For 44 years he was a professor of New Testament at Princeton Theological Seminary, until his death in 1944. For many years he was also a director at City National Bank.
