Bobby Dewey Ball age 77, of Raven, VA passed away at his home Sunday, October 30, 2016. Born November 21, 1938 he was the son of the late Lawrence and Ethel Ball of Raven. He was a loving husband, dad, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved the outdoors and hunting.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Edward (Gene) Ball and Gerald Tommy Ball. He was the last surviving member of his family in his generation.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nell; four sons, Keith Ball and wife Sabaraina of Raven, VA, Michael Ball and wife Susan of Pounding Mill, VA, Scotty Ball and wife Vanessa of Birchleaf, VA, and Randy Ball and wife Sue of Raven, VA; one daughter, Debbie Ball and husband Les of Cedar Bluff, VA; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, Virginia.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 3 at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Welch and Michael Brandon Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the Ball Cemetery on Road Ridge in Raven, VA. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Brandon Ball, Wesley Ball, Jason Ball, Joshua Ball, Jonathon Ball, and family friend, Timothy Gobble. Honorary pallbearers will be Emory Salyers, Doris White, Dink Ball, Wayne Ball, Les Ball, Adam Ball, Steve Ball, Danny Ball, Mark Ball, Ikey Ball, Gary Ball, Todd Ball, Chad Ball, and a host of family and friends.
