He was a cement worker, retired from Alpha-Portland Cement in St. Louis. He was former pastor of Moselle Bible Church. He was an original organizer and chaplain of the Jefferson County Rescue Mission. He served the jail ministries for 35 years and nursing homes ministries for 13 years.
He is survived by his wife, Elnora (Judy) Albano Holman; three daughters, Patricia (John) Huber of House Springs, Connie (Harry) Young and Linda (Tony) AuBuchon, both of De Soto; three sons, Sidney J. (Brenda) Holman Jr. of Festus, Jerry (Vicki) Holman of Barnhart, Randy (Tammy) Holman of Festus; two brothers, James Holman of Bloomfield and Leroy Holman of Festus; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby (Norman) Holman; his parents; his son, Larry Holman; and four sisters, Vada Bruce, Sybil Morrison, Ruby Reece and Polly Reando.
Funeral was Dec. 20 at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus, with the Rev. Terry Crank officiating. Interment is in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Jefferson Memorial Hospice or the American Diabetes Association.
