Harold Reid Fisher, 81, of Rockwell, was a son to the late H. V. and Marie Fisher. He was predeceased by his wife, Susan Hensley Fisher.
In 1958, he was drafted into the U.S. Army as an infantryman. During his 20-year career, he was commissioned as an officer and piloted UH-1 helicopters during two tours in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1978 as a lieutenant colonel. In 1980, he moved with his family to Gastonia and worked as a purchasing manager for Homelite Corp. In 1989, his family relocated to Rockwell. For 23 years, Harold was a member of Midway Church, Kannapolis, where he taught Sunday school and sang in the choir.
Interment in Gaston Memorial Park with full military honors.
