Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Clifton Murphy and Jessie Mae Hicks Bagwell.
Mr. Bagwell graduated from West Gantt High School and was a retired home builder. He was an inventor who held several patents and was an avid bowler. He was a charter member of Salem United Methodist.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters, Becky Jones and husband, Charles of Greenville and Lorie Bryant and husband, Chris, of Piedmont; son, Jeff Bagwell, Sr., and wife, Pam, of Greenville; sister, Norma Jean Jones of Greenville; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
Burial: Greenville Memorial Gardens.
