Seek Cause Of Death Of Child
A five-year-old Ottumwa child, James Franklin Nason, died at 4 a.m. today at the Ottumwa hospital.
Cause of death has not been determined. The child underwent a tonsil and adenoid operation 20 hours earlier at the hospital, but attending physicians said the post-operative course of the patient was uneventful. Death occurred following a convulsion and a temperature rise to 107 degrees. Exact cause of the convulsion and temperature rise has not been found. An autopsy is being performed.
He was the son of George and Hazel Nason, and lived at 610 Norris street. He was a kindergarten student at Anne G. Wilson school.
Surviving in addition to his parents are two sisters, Linda and Barbara Nason, and a brother, Paul Nason, and his grandmother, Mrs. Maude Adams of Eldon.
The body is at the Jay funeral home, awaiting completion of funeral arrangements.
