Obituary for James E. "Jim" Goins
James Edgar "Jim" Goins, 93 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at the Claremore Veteran's Center. He was born August 18, 1926 in Strang, Oklahoma to his parents, Thomas Straley Goins and Myrtle Margaret Hinkle Goins. He was married to Midge Goins for 32 years at the time of her passing in 1979.

Jim served in WWII with the Navy in the South Pacific on the U.S.S Sangamon aircraft carrier. After service for his country, he became a game warden in west Texas where he met his future bride Midge. After a few years they moved to Oklahoma and he began working for American Airlines. He retired after 34 years as a mechanic. His last position was at the fuel control shop. Jim loved to fish and he helped his friends with air conditioning or auto issues.

Jim is survived by his three sons, Gary Goins and his wife Karen R. of Jenks, Oklahoma, Chris Goins and his wife Karen S. of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Billy Mac Gafford and his wife Sandra of Amarillo, Texas; eight grandchildren, Ryan Goins, Nicole Goins Baker, Jonas Goins, Megan Goins Graham, Jessica Goins Thompson, James Gafford, Larry Gafford and Sue Gafford Enger; sixteen great-grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Midge Goins; his parents, Thomas and Myrtle Goins; his daughter, Virginia Goins; and his six siblings.
