Mrs. J. C Wesner, pioneer resident of Washita County, were held Friday in the Cordell First Baptist Church. Mrs. Wesner, who was 76 and had been in ill health for over a year, died Wednesday morning following a heart attack at her home. A resident of Washita County for 58 years, Mrs. Wesner settled in the Fosa community in 1897. She moved to Cordell in 1920, and was an active member of the First Baptist Church, serving 20 years as president of her Sunday School class. She was a former state vice-president of the American War Mothers and was active in the Eastern Star and county home demonstration council and was a member of the Helpful Neighbors Club. Her survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Emil Baldwin, Britton, Mrs. Gordon Garrison, Muskegon, and Mrs. John Napier, Ann Arbor, Mich.; six sons, John, Cheyenne, Howard, Ardmore, Marvin. Elk City, Jess and Raymond, both of Cordell, and Charles Wesner, Brownsville, Tex.; three brothers, Arch Streaiy, Wichita, Kan., Lew Streaiy, Henrietta, Tex., Earl Streaiy, Burns Flat; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Brock, Henrietta, Tex., Mrs. L. B. Anderson, Ryan, Mrs. Ethel Wilson, Rogers, Ark.; 22 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
