Mrs Atkinson was the widow of Edward Kennedy Atkinson and the daughter of the late Walter Pringle and Agnes Buist Pringle.
She was survived by sons, Edward T Atkinson and Thomas P Atkinson, two grandchildren, a brother Somers B Pringle and three sisters Mrs Elizabeth Shearn, Mrs Minnie Haigh and Mrs J Ray Herrin Jr.
Funeral services were held at St Philip's Episcopal Church with internment following in the churchyard.
