On Saturday, Sept 7th, Mrs T. J. Ashley of Violet Hill, died in Oklahoma
City, at the home of her daughter, Mrs C. C. Jacobs, where she had spent the
past few months.

Mrs Ashley had been in declining health for some time. She was taken to
the Mayo hospital at Rochester, Minn., for treatment a few months ago and
later went to Oklahoma City.

She has lived in this county nearly all her life and was loved and
respected by all for her true Christian spirit. Her death was not
unexpected.

Besides her husband, she leaves three sons; Judge John C. Ashley of
Melbourne, Roger Ashley of Little Rock and William Ashley of Tuckerman and
two daughters - Mrs Cora Johnson of Tuckerman and Mrs C. R. Jacobs of
Oklahoma City. (One spot has C. C. Jacobs and the other shows C. R. Jacobs)

Interment was at Violet Hill cemetery Tuesday, the 9th, funeral services
being conducted by Elder Porterfield. (Note: Violet Hill Cemetery shows,
Martha E. Ashley 11 Mar 1857 - 6 Sep 1924)

Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Ashley, 67 years old, died Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. R. Jacobs, 1634 E. 11th street. Besides her husband, T. J. Ashley of Violet Hill, Ark., she is survived by three sons, J. C. Ashley of Melbourn, Ark., Roger Ashley of Little Rock, Ark., and W. M. Ashley of Tuckemian, Ark.; also two daughters, Mrs. C. R. Jacobs of Oklahoma City and Mrs. A. N. Johnson of Tuckemian, Ark. Arrangements will be announced later by the Hahn funeral home.

The body of Mrs. Martha E. Ashley, sixty-seven years old, who died Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. R. Jacobs, 1634 E. 11th street, is being forwarded by the Hahn funeral home to Violet Hill, Ark., for burial.
