She was born November 27, 1939 in Smith County, attended Emmett J. Scott High School and was a lifelong resident of Smith County. Margie was one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Preceding her in death was her parents, and three sisters, Floyd Marie, Alma Jean and Barbara Ann.
Survivors include: four sons, Charles Young, Gary Young, David Young, and Donald Young all of Tyler; two daughters, Teresia Young and Devona Young both of Tyler; two brothers, Eddie Hammons and Bobby Lee Hammons both of Winona and one sister, Bobbie Jean Williams, Dallas; ten grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
