Annette Clara Duncan, 80, of Red Wing, died unexpectedly, Sunday October 30, 2016, at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Red Wing.

She was born December 13, 1935, in Red Wing, to Lawrence and Wilma (Thumann) Swanson. She attended Red Wing Central High School before she married Emil Simonson. They later divorced. She later married Gerald Duncan. He died in 1972. Annette worked at the Red Wing Shoe Company for over 40 years until her retirement. She was a member of United Lutheran Church where she coordinated and worked funeral lunches, was a member of WELCA and quilting clubs. She was also a part of the Queen Bees helping to welcome the River Boats into Red Wing and was a past volunteer usher at the T. B. Sheldon theater. She enjoyed cross stitching, sewing, crafting, ballroom dancing gardening, bird watching and traveling and in her younger years had been a league bowler.

She is survived by her three children, Michael (Dorothy) Simonson of Newport, Minn., Debbie (Blaise) Byrne of Woodbury, Minn and Todd Duncan of Kasson, Minn.; several grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; son, Bruce Simonson; three sisters, Marge Poux, Joyce Thomforde and Shirley Nordin.

Funeral service will be 12 p.m., Friday November 4, 2016, at United Lutheran Church with Reverend Carl Rydholm officiating. A visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, November 3, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, and one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
