Elizabeth Lawson, age 94 of Lafayette and a former resident of Rensselaer, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 in Lafayette, Indiana. She was born in Rensselaer, Indiana on January 10, 1922, to Floyd Landis and Amanda Ethel (Jenkins) Tanner. Martha attended school in Barkley Township and Rensselaer. Most of her life was spent in Jasper County, except for 20 years when she lived in Arizona. She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Nelson of Logansport, Indiana; Judy Culp of Lafayette, Indiana and Rebecca (Ruth Watson) Hullinger of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Konda (Jesse) Berry of Carmel, Indiana, Kim (Tony) Lanoue of Lafayette, Indiana, Beth (Kent) Agne of South Lyon, Michigan, Michael (AnaPaula) Nelson of Zionsville, Indiana and Steven (Amanda) Nelson of Kempner, Texas; great grandchildren, Chase and Shae Berry, Torie and Brett Agne, Andrew and Alejandra Nelson, Gabriel, Abigail and Sarah Nelson and Kaleb and Nathan Lanoue; two sisters, Lois Snedeker of Scottsdale, Arizona and Mabel Toben of Brook, Indiana and a brother, Walter (Loretta) Tanner of Prineville, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and four brother’s. Martha was a former member of the Logansport Christian Church. She enjoyed crocheting Afghans for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and doing crafts of all kinds. She loved working with flowers, having flower gardens both indoors and outdoors, feeding and watching hummingbirds and collecting hummingbirds of all types.
