She retired from Meijer's on Lima Road after 10 years of service, in 2004.
Surviving are her son, Mark F. Heckber of Fort Wayne; daughter, Annette M. Heckber of Maryville, Tenn.; grandson, Mark F. Heckber II of Fort Wayne; and sister, Opal Herrberg of Fort Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, in 2008; son, Steven Heckber; daughter, Barbara Heckber; granddaughter, Morgan Heckber; sister, Lillie Dennis; brothers, Ward, Wade, Howard, Harry, and Roy Bailey.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 1500 W. State Blvd., with calling one hour prior. the Rev. Father Gary Sigler officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
