Lona Ellen Sessums, 50, passed away October 28, 2016, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. She was born May 28, 1966, to Mary Sarrols Newton. Lona loved riding Harley Motorcycles with her husband, Donnie. She also enjoyed camping at Spring River.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Sarrols Newton; and a brother, Larry Dewayne Newton.

Survivors include her husband, Donnie Sessums; one son, Jon Skyler Morris; one daughter, Stephanie Nicole Slaughter; one step son, Braiden Sessums; three brothers, Darren, Wesley and Tony Newton; three sisters and brothers in law, Tammy and David Hogan, Leisa and Michael Nettles, and Georgia Stacy; grandson, Donald Cole Robertson; and also close to her heart, Wes Bales.

The family will receive friends 11-1 pm on Monday, October 31, 2016, at Phillips Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 1pm Monday, October 31, 2016, in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with David Aronson officiating. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jon Skyler Morris, Wes Bales, Larry Brewer, Jake Page, Brandon Box, and Josh Freeman. Tommy Morris will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
