Mahalia was first married to James E Harrold May 20, 1869, Dade County, MO. Mahalia later married Alonzo Babcock September 17, 1898, Dadeville, MO, after the death of Nathan in 1895. They were living in Joplin, MO at the time of the 1900 Census.
Ellen died at age 61 from Mitral Insufficency six months to the day after the death of her husband James. Son Floyd Morrow, Greenfield, MO is the informant on her MO Death Certificate.

She was converted in early life. She was a kind and loving mother and neighbor. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Tom Proctor at the Baptist Church.
The body was laid to rest at the Lockwood Cemetery beside her husband.
