MRS. JOHNSON, 82, RITES TODAY

VINCENT SETTLEMENT RESIDENT DIES IN MAPLEWOOD HOME

SULPHUR - Final rites for Mrs. Tabitha Johnson, 82, a resident of Vincent Settlement community, will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Hixson Funeral Home in Sulphur.

The Rev. Paul Stornes, pastor of the Vincent Settlement Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Farquhar Cemetery near the Vincent Settlement community.

Mrs. Johnson was a lifelong resident of the area and was a charter member of the Vincent Settlement Baptist Church. She died at 3:10 p.m. Monday in the Holly Hill Rest Home in Maplewood.

Pallbearers are Olin C. Overman, Liney R. Vincent, McKinley Vincent, J. Hoyt Vincent, Gerald Boudreaux, Allen Vincent, and Dr. George Hardy Vincent.

Survivors are three sons, Ernest Ellender, Earl J. Ellender, and Lucius J. Ellender, all of the Vincent Settlement community; three stepsons, the Rev. Bill Johnson of Orangefield, Texas, the Rev. Gordon Johnson of Freeport, Texas, and Harry Johnson of Beaumont; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
