While enjoying the holidays with her husband Noel and another couple at Camp Sherman at the Lake Creek Resort near Sisters, Oregon, Kaye had gone out at 8:30 for an early morning jog. She never returned. A search for her, including with bloodhounds and helicopters, found nothing.
Some of her remains, including a watch that had stopped at 9:05 on December 24th were found over a few days in August 1979 - it was not known if the time was a.m. or p.m. Her jawbone was discovered and positively identified as belonging to Kaye.
Kaye was the staff resources manager for the Lane Community Health and Social Services Department in Eugene. She was the wife of Noel Turner.
