Henry “Hank” Schweizer, 67, of Moodus, beloved husband of Carol (Czaja) Schweizer, died Sunday October 23, 2016 at the West Haven VA Hospital.

He was born in La Junta, CO, son of the late Herman and Marie (Gerlock) Schweizer. Hank was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U.S. Navy. He was employed with Whalen Engineering and also worked as a computer programmer.

Hank was known for his kindness and his desire to help people. He was a member of the East Haddam Ambulance Association, East Haddam Volunteer Fire Dept., worked with Hunters Ambulance, Middlesex Hospital, ER, and also the Red Cross. He was also a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.

Besides his wife Carol, Hank is survived by his son, David Schweizer and his wife Britt of Portland, OR, daughter Melissa Fox and her husband Brian of Ohio, four grandchildren, Riley, Dalton, Garrett, Corbin, sister in law, Maryann Czaja of Moodus, brother in laws, Phil Czaja and Kenneth Brockett. He was predeceased by his sisters, Nancy Schweizer and Liz Ann Brockett.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Bridget of Kildare Cemetery, Moodus. There are no calling hours.
