Norman Joe Sims passed away Friday, October 28, 2016. He was born August 25, 1932 in Louise to the late Ross and Clara Hassett Sims. He served his country in the United States Army in the Korean War. He retired from CPL and VISD. Norman was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Martha Kirchner Sims of Victoria; son, Robert D. Sims (Deborah) of Houston; brother, M. L. Sims of El Campo; daughters-in-law, Brenda Sims Moebius and Connie Sims; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and close friends, John Baylor and Robert Berger. In addition to his parents and four brothers he was preceded in death by two sons, Stephen Allen Sims (1980) and Douglas Ray Sims (2010). The family will receive friends from Noon – 2 pm on Monday, October 31, 2016 followed by funeral services at 2 pm at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Glenn Hagemann, Daniel Hybner, Kirk Sims, Evan Sims, Robert Berger and Rawley Dietzel. Honorary Pallbearer will be John Baylor. The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of South Texas for the love and care provided.
