THE LEBANON ENTERPRISE.

Sylvester Ewing, 46, who lived at Calvary where he was engaged in farming and the lumber business, succumbed at 4:30 o'clock Friday morning at his home, his death being due to a brain trouble with which he was stricken the previous week. Until his last illness he was seemingly in his usual health.

A native of Marion County, Mr. Ewing was born January 3, 1894, and with the exception of a few years spent in Illinois, allhis life had been spent in and around calvary. His parents were William and Mary Lizzie SappEwing, both deceased. He was an honest, upright citizen and was devoted to his family and friends.

Mr. Ewing is survived by his wife, who was Miss Mamie Murphy, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Will Murphy; eight children, Mrs. A. B. Spicer, Mrs. Will Flersch and Mrs. Matthias, all of Decatur, Ill, Misses Elizabeth and Dorothy Jean Ewing and Willie, Edgar, and John Ewing, all of whom live at home; one brother Willie Ewing of Decatur; foursisters, Mrs, Flora Cooper and Miss Kate Ewing of St. Mary, and Mrs, Laura Curry and Mrs. Teresa Lucas, both of Decatur, and several grandchildren.
