Ronald Andrew Lichalk Jr. of Lapeer, Mich., departed Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, in Lapeer. He was born Jan. 19, 1969, in Pittsburgh and resided in Pleasant Hills. Ron attended West Jefferson Hills Schools and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, class of 1986 in Jefferson Hills. After graduating, he continued his preparation for college at the University Prep School in Shadyside/Pittsburgh. Upon completion of his studies there, he attended St. Vincent College in Latrobe and Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. In 1992, he moved to Lapeer after accepting a job offer from his uncle, Edward A. May, Owner of Albar Industries, Lapeer, where he was employed at the time of his death. Ron had a multitude of talents and could envision any projects outcome. Whether working on a friend's car, woodworking project, landscaping, designing and building a waterfall or, his most recent project, building and flying drones for "Cloud Jockey LLC", he could do it. Ron was also pursuing his private pilot license.

Ron's sudden and unexpected death from a heart attack was caused from a blocked aorta artery. He is survived by his wife, Laura A. Lichalk (Couture); children, Dalton Andrew and Madison Nikole Lichalk; parents, Ronald Andrew Lichalk Sr. and Juanita Lichalk (May), of Pleasant Hills; sisters, Lauren (Dan) Galardini, of Batavia, Ill., and Tracy (Hal) Hunter, of Solan, Ohio; father and mother-in-law, Bruce and Judy Couture, of Metamora, Mich., and sister-in-law; Tracey (Scott) Renshaw (Couture), of Metamora. Ron is also survived by many uncles and aunts, Edward A. May (Carolyn), of North Branch, Mich., Mary Ann Elliott (Dr. Michael) Elliott, Duncan, Okla., W. Joseph May (Janet) May, of Pleasant Hills, and Lawrence R. May (Linda) Attica, Mich., Arlene (Vincent) Barth, of Atlantic City, N.J.; and many cousins and friends. He was a fun-loving uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his infant son, Nicholas; grandparents, Walter A. and Margaret M. May (Diethorn), of Mt. Oliver, and Andrew and Bertha Lichalk (Orenyak), of McKeesport; Aunt Lois M. and A.E. Fair, of Riverview, Mich., and Aunt Barbara May, of North Branch; and very special cousin, Katie May, of Los Angeles, Calif., who died at the age of 35, in February 2016. Above all else he loved his children, Dalton and Madison; his dog, Storm; the Pittsburgh Steelers football team; Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team; and Pittsburgh Pirates baseball! He left Pittsburgh, but his love of everything Pittsburgh never left him, including his love of Primanti Brothers sandwiches. We are forever thankful God blessed us with Ron as our son, and most grateful to everyone who has touched Ron's life and ours in our grief.

Visitation was held Oct. 2, 2016, and Oct. 3, 2016, at MUIR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Lapeer, and his funeral Mass, was Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Lapeer. Father Douglas Terrien and Father Richard Treml celebrated the funeral Liturgy at Mass. Father Richard Treml, Pastor of SS. Peter and Paul, of North Branch, is a very special friend to the Lichalk and May families. Ron was buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Lapeer. At a later date, a memorial Mass will be held in Ron's memory at St. Thomas A' Becket Church in Jefferson Hills.
