George Clifton Crosby of Severn, MD, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016. George was born on December 15, 1925 in Louisiana and was the son of the late George and Arizona Crosby.

George served his country proudly for 30 years as a member of the United States Army and retired as a Command Sergeant Major in 1975. He served over half his military time in Germany where he met his loving wife Erna. He most enjoyed his last assignment as the Post Sergeant Major of Fort Meade and continued his close military ties through the E-9 Association of Fort Meade until his death. George was proud that for many years he was "The Oldest Soldier "of the Association. After his military career he went on to become a supervisor with WSSC for 19 years.

In addition to his parents George was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

George is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Erna A. Crosby; two sons, Robert Crosby and his wife Lisa and Ronald Crosby and his wife Suzie; one brother, Bing Crosby; one sister-in-law, Gertrude "Trudy" Yeager, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1411 Annapolis Road Odenton, MD 21113 where a funeral service will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. Interment services will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery Crownsville, MD.
