Darryl Neal Walker was born on July 31, 1936, in Idaho Falls, to William Boyes Walker and Evelyn Rhoda Gerard. He was welcomed by a sister and 2 brothers.

Darryl attended schools in Lewisville and Rigby, where he lettered in football and participated in FFA. Upon completing high school, he attended some college at Utah State University, in Logan, Utah, and joined an Engineering Platoon in the Idaho National Guard, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant First Class.

Darryl married Janeale Lawyer on April 6, 1962; their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

Darryl farmed and ranched his entire life, purchasing his first farm upon graduation from high school and continuing to farm land and raise cattle in Lewisville and Menan. He received awards for Cattleman of the Year, Jefferson County Conservation Farmer of the Year, and served 28 years on the board of the Parks and Lewisville Canal Company (8 of those years in the capacity of president). He enjoyed his cattle and looked forward to trailing them to and from Island Park every spring and fall. One of the highlights of his life was traveling with the Utah State Aggies football team to attend games. Another favorite pastime was "watching the crops grow."

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served both in the Elders Quorum and Sunday School presidency and was a dedicated home teacher. He often helped a neighbor or family member in need and served as Santa's helper to needy families and ward members.

Darryl and his wife, Janeale, are the parents of 6 children: son, Rory Walker, of Idaho Falls; daughter Rhonda Walker, of Riverton, Utah; son, Michael (Julie Ann) Walker of Lewisville; daughter Julie (Troy) Rosier of Price Utah; son Jim (Angela) Walker of Richmond, Utah; and son Ryan (Melissa) Walker, of Kaysville, Utah. He had 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He shared a special bond with his oldest grandson, Trevor (Jasmine) Walker, which remains unbroken to this day.

Darryl passed away at the age of 80 at his home on October 28, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lola (Maurice) Robison, brother, Wayne (Patricia) Walker, and brother, Donald (Marjorie) Walker.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at the Lewisville LDS Church with Bishop Roger Nield officiating.
