A. D. McMickle, 61, of 2435 Independence avenue, died unexpectedly Friday at the White Eagle Cafe, which he owned at 5516 Independence avenue. He was born in Texarkana, Tex, and came to Kansas City 47 years ago. He was a member of the Independence Boulevard Christian Church. He was a fireman for the Kansas City fire department until 1948, when he formed a private detective agency. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary McMickle and a son, Alfred D. McMickle, both of the home; a brother, Walter C. Padgett, Elmhurst, Ill., and a sister, Mrs. Rena Shannon, 4015 North Montgall. Funeral services will be at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday at the Blackman Chapel; burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
