Army Spc. Douglas L. Tinsley, 21, of Chester, S.C.; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska; died Dec. 26 of injuries sustained when the vehicle he was in was involved in a rollover incident in Baghdad. Also killed was Spc. Joseph A. Strong. The incident is under investigation. Surviving are his mother, Lori F. Tinsley and companion, Rhonda Graham, of Chester; his father, Douglas Vance Tinsley and his wife, Connie, of Rock Hill; brother, PFC Ryan Tinsley of Fort Bragg, NC; one sister, Kristen Tinsley of Lancaster; fiance', Sarah Rose Nelson of Anchorage, AK; three stepbrothers, Brandon Larin of Rock Hill, Austin Barker of Rock Hill, Derrick Blair of Chester; maternal grandmother, Zelma B. Fairfax of McConnells; paternal grandfather, Douglas H. Tinsley of Blair; four foster brothers, Darrell Satterwhite of Rock Hill, Nicholas Satterwhite of Charlotte, NC, Greg Estes of Savannah, GA, and Harrison McWaters of Rock Hill. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Buddy Fairfax, his paternal grandmother, Barbara Jean Tinsley and his godmother, Martha Ann "Mott" Cummings.
