The Backs lived at 79 Fifth ave. Elsie was out doing Christmas shopping in Bridgeport when she was crossing the street. She probably had her head partially down to avoid the rain. She was struck by car while it was attempting to pass in front of a trolley at the corner of Fairfield Ave and Broad St at 4:00 pm. A trolley car was stopped in front of the Methodist Church traveling westward.
