Spc. Joseph A. Strong, 21, of Lebanon, Ind.; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska; died Dec. 26 of injuries sustained when the vehicle he was in was involved in a rollover incident in Baghdad. Also killed was Spc. Douglas L. Tinsley. He was the son of Allen Lewis Strong of Poole, Ky. and Terri (Johnson) Batts Other survivors include step-father Tracy Batts of Lebanon; sister Vanesa Caldwell (husband Evan) of Lebanon; step-sister Tristen Batts of Lebanon; half-sister Brittany Strong of Morrisonville, N.Y.; grandparents Joe and Jean Johnson of Advance, Lanny and Ginny Batts of Thorntown, Anna Batts of Thorntown and Frances Strong of Indianapolis; aunts and uncles Andrea and Glen Bohem, Stan and Lynn Bogan, Jerry and Kim Strong, all of Lebanon, Lynn Johnson, Cindy and J.T. Luellen, both of Indianapolis, Joni Johnson of Clarksville, Tenn., Michael Johnson of Ladoga, Jane and Jeff Bramblett of Fyfe, Ala., Brian and Sue Dawn Amick of Crawfordsville and Kevin MacKinnon of Litzon; and several cousins. He was also preceded in death by grandfather Leonard Strong and uncle Kevin Amick.
