Life Legacy

Melissa McDaniel, 42, of Wright City, OK, passed away at the OSU Medical Center, in Tulsa, OK, on October 28, 2016.

Melissa was born on August 25, 1974, in Idabel, OK, to F.M. (Bill) and Mary E. (Hollingsworth) McDaniel.

Melissa was affiliated with the Greens Chapel Assembly of God Church in Wright City and had lived her entire life span in McCurtain County. Melissa loved to spend time with her family, especially her great-nieces and nephews. She liked to defend the Bible to non-believers, as well.

She loved to sing and draw pictures. Melissa loved talking to her Aunt Ruth Nance and her Uncle Charley McDaniel on the phone. Before becoming disabled, Melissa had worked for Tyson Foods and Pilgrims for many years.

Melissa is preceded in death by her father, F.M. (Bill) McDaniel and brother, Steve Hollingsworth McDaniel.

Melissa leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Mary McDaniel, of the Herndon Community; siblings, Vonda Cupit, and husband, Orville, of Rufe, OK; DeeAnna Conterez, and David Rodgers, of McAlester, OK; Janice McDaniel, of Broken Bow, OK; Peggy Hammonds, and husband, William (Brittle), of Idabel, OK; Judy Blair, of Ft. Towson, OK; Debbie Colson, and husband, Jerry, of the North Pole Community; and Billy Shane McDaniel, and wife, Keta, of DeQueen, AR;

Special uncles, Charley McDaniel and Cecil McDaniel; fourteen nieces and nephews; 27 great nieces and nephews; a special aunt Ruth Nance; and special friends, Terry Wilson, Phillip Wafford, Wendy VanHoose, and Tonya Flowers-Brown.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at 2:00, at the Greens Chapel Assembly of God Church, in the Herndon Community, with Lynn Gaskey officiating. Burial will follow at the Slater Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday, October 31, 2016, from 4:00 – 6:00, at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow, OK.
