Janice “JJ” Kathleen Jones Stanley, 67, of Spartanburg, SC, went to rest with the Eternal Father on Tuesday, October 25, 2016. Born October 4, 1949, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of Belva Elizabeth Swinney Jones of Boiling Springs, SC and the late Harold Irvin Jones. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.

A graduate of Spartanburg High School and attendee of Spartanburg Methodist College, Mrs. Stanley was a realtor in the 1970’s and retired from Tietex Corporation. She was also a substitute teacher for Spartanburg District 6. She served as a youth bowling league director from 1981-1988 and taught many young bowlers the game. She was a fan of Dorman High School, the USC Gamecocks, and the Washington Redskins football teams. She enjoyed beach music, playing UNO, and spoiling her grandchildren. Her presence will be extremely missed throughout the family.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, William “Bill” P. Stanley of the home; children, Kevin Matthew Stanley (Tanya) and Monica Stanley Covan (Tony); grandchildren, Megan Leah Stanley Cabe (Kevin), Ryan Matthew Stanley (Tori), Austin James “AJ” Covan, and Braeden Anthony Covan; great-grandchildren, Reaghan Cabe, Jaxson Cabe, and Easton Stanley, all of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, Richard Harold Jones of Lyman, SC and Curtis Aron Jones of Boiling Springs, SC.

A cryptside service will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 29, 2016, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Kenneth Cash. Visitation at the home will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hope Center for Children, PO Box 1731, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
