Billy Carroll Cornelius, 78, of Nashville died Tuesday October 25, 2016 at Pruitt HealthCare in Valdosta.
He was born April 28, 1938 in Berrien County to the late Harmon Cornelius and the late Wilma Butler Cornelius. He was a retired English Professor for various colleges in Georgia, Texas, and Utah. He obtained a theology degree from Emory University and a journalism degree from the University of Georgia. He was also a manager for Cokesbury Bookstores in Atlanta, Kansas City, and Dallas. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church.
He is survived by 3 sons: Cawood Cornelius of Calhoun, David Cornelius of Macon, and Stanley Cornelius of Macon; brother: Bob Cornelius of Nashville; sister: Marjorie Jo Coulson of Tucker; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The family has honored his request for cremation and a memorial service will be held Sunday October 30, 2016 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home.
