Obituary for Lyle Harrison Shepard
Lyle Shepard, 69, of Wellsville, Kansas, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016 at Olathe Hospice House, Olathe, KS.

Lyle was born February 15, 1947, in Mound Valley, KS, the son of Richard Harrison and Bea (Bohannan) Shepard. He was a 1965 graduate of Neodesha High School, Neodesha, KS.

He was inducted in the United States Navy SeeBees in 1966 attaining the rank of e-3. He earned the National Defense Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service medal with fleet force combat operations insignia and three bronze stars before his honorable discharge in 1968.

Lyle was a lifelong carpenter and worked various jobs for commercial construction companies in the area. He attended the North Baptist Church, Ottawa

On April 1, 1973, Lyle was united in marriage with Vicki Jones at the Christian Church in Olathe, Kansas. They shared over 43 years of marriage together.

Lyle is also survived by his sister, Louise Williams, a niece, Cynthia deVinna, great niece, Kalyn Rochester, and a best friend, Madison Christian.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Linda Walters, and brother, Larry Shepard.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday November 12, 2016 at the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa.
