Not much is known about the Elizabeth Hill that married Joseph Hotchkin. Many have thought she is the daughter of John Hill II and Thankful Stow, but that Elizabeth married James Lord. The dates of births, deaths, and other events do not make that logical.

What records there are only show that Joseph Hotchkin first married an Elizabeth Hill, March 1, 1704, Guilford, and she appears to be the mother of all of his children. It is possible she was the "widow" Elizabeth Hill, but so far have not found a connection to the Guilford Hill family.

Her exact date is not known, but Joseph's second wife, Hannah, died in 1759.
