After graduating high school Phil went on to become a Police Officer in Webb City, a deputy at Jasper County , then finished out his service as deputy in Greene County. On June 15th, 1973 he was united in marriage with Treva Irene (Millard) Neher, becoming a father to Tracy, and soon after with the birth of Heather. His favorite hobbies were collecting guns and any work he could do on a computer. Above all, Phil enjoyed his family. He loved them and spending time with them. He liked to keep them on their toes by being ornery and keeping them up to date on anything and everything. Phil will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; a grandson, Adon Sutton; and a sister Mona McCombs.
Phil is survived by his wife Treva, of the home; his two daughters and their husbands, Tracy and Randon Ivy, Mansfield, Missouri, and Heather and Jeremy Sutton, Jamesport, Missouri; 8 grandchildren, Elizabeth Reynolds, Cody Neher, Skylar Reynolds, Cameron Neher, C'iara Neher, Michael Sutton, Michelle Sutton, Kadyn Ivy; a great grandson, Mavrick Neher; a sister, Patricia (Patty) Rider; numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, October 26th, 2016 in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. A funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 27th, 2016 also in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery in Jasper, Missouri.Family suggest contributions be made in memory of Phil to John Phillip Wilbur Memorial Fund (check payable to Treva Wilbur) and left in care of funeral home or family.
