Maurita Fern Adams, 70, of Springfield died Saturday, March 17, 2012 at NorthCrest Medical Center. Mrs. Adams' remains were cremated, and private family memorial services were held.

She was born Jan. 23, 1942 in Decatur, Ill. to Albert Jacob and Ruby Fern Carlisle Micklus. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Randy Adams, and two brothers.

She was a member of first Christian Science Church in Nashville and was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Allen Adams of Springfield; sons, Terry (Cheryl) Adams of Nashville, Chris (Carolyne) Adams of Pleasant View, and Jacob (Annie) Adams of Bowling Green, Ky; daughter, Melissa (John) Gainous of Springfield; sister, Shirley Mclain of Decatur; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
