Mr. Micheal Leonard Hansberger Sr of Yuma, AZ, passed away on October 25, 2016 at the age of 69.

He was born on November 13, 1946 in Yuma, Arizona and his parents, Maxine and Kenneth Hansberger raised him to love Yuma and he always made it his home outside of time in the Navy. Micheal served in the US Navy from 1964 through 1969, serving as a damage controlman on the USS Goldsborough, and with the Hawaii Armed Services Police. Micheal returned to Yuma attending Arizona Western College, sold real estate, participated in the family air conditioning business and later opened his own business. Micheal married Karon Hamner in 1966 and had one son Micheal Jr. The couple separated after 11 years.

Micheal served on the Arizona Contractors Association board, had been an active member of the Yuma Drag Racing Association, spending many a weekend operating the timing lights at drag races. He enjoyed competing in shooting competitions, photography, collecting antiques, auto racing, and parasailing down the beach in El Gulfo.

Micheal is survived by his son, Micheal Hansberger; brother, Mark Hansberger (Diane); sister, Hillary Thomas (Merritt); nephews Kenny Sharpensteen, Chris Sharpensteen, Russell Wright and Niece, Samantha Thomas. Micheal was a friend to many.

No memorial service will be held but a celebration of life will be held at Lutes Casino on November 5, 2016 from 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Humane Society of Yuma.
