RICHMOND, Ind. – Michael W. Sibert, age 73, of Richmond, died Monday, October 24, 2016, at his home.

Born January 28, 1943, in Richmond, Indiana, to Raymond and Vergil Bell Plessinger Sibert, Mike lived most of his life in this community. He graduated from Richmond High School. Mike served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked as a pipefitter at Steamfitters Local 440 for 30 years. Mike also worked at Johns Manville and Visteon. He was a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 440. Mike was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying both hunting and fishing. He liked working in his vegetable garden and was quite artistic.

Survivors include his son, Michael T. (Nancy) Sibert of Richmond; sisters, Athalie R. Bymaster of New York, Linda E. (Tom) Spalding of Bastrop, Texas, Roberta R. (Charles) Hignite of Richmond, and Jenny P. (Ted) Lovelace of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, Joseph M. (Diane) Sibert of Indianapolis, Indiana; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Onita June Sibert; son, Matthew B. Sibert; parents; sisters, Patricia Alberts, Lois R. Keever, and Dawn Baker; and brothers, Garth A. and Bruce D. Sibert.

Visitation for Michael W. Sibert will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. David Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery with military honors provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
