He retired from the City of Waynesboro five years ago, where he had worked as a Mason. He loved fishing and NASCAR.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Cason Lucas; and his grandfather, Roger Cason.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Lucas of Waynesboro; son, Brandon Lucas and wife, Ashley, of Waynesboro; four cats, Monk, Skipper, Snooks, and Skittles; three sisters, Judy Davis of Stuarts Draft, Angel of Stuarts Draft, and Tanya Schlabach and husband, of Stuarts Draft; and three brothers, Neil Lucas and wife, Jane, of Waynesboro, Keith Lucas and wife of Fishersville, and Chad Lucas and wife of Stuarts Draft. In addition to his family, he leaves behind two special friends, Waymon and Robert.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the Waynesboro First Aid crew, the 2nd floor ICU Nurses and Nurse Angie on the 3rd floor at Augusta Health.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 27, 2016, at 11 a.m., at Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro, conducted by Pastor Scott Jewell.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Waynesboro First Aid Crew, 201 W.
