Harold “Pie” Paul Keller, son of Byron Paul Keller and Ruth Hendrickson Keller Belland, was born on August 3, 1921, near Brooklyn, Iowa. He received his education in the Brooklyn School graduating from the Brooklyn High School. Mr. Keller served with the United States Marine Corps from January 6, 1942 to September 19, 1945.
He was united in marriage to Ruby O’Halloran in the home of her parents near Hartwick, Iowa, on March 2, 1944.
A life-long resident of Brooklyn, Iowa, Mr. Keller was employed by Dean Montgomery Surge service for the past twelve years.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Francis Gallagher American Legion Post # 294, US Marine Raider Assn., and was a former fire chief and a thirty year member of the Brooklyn Fire Department.
Mr. Keller is survived by his wife, Ruby; his mother, Mrs. Ruth Belland of Brooklyn, Iowa; two sons, Ken of Iowa City, Iowa and Wayne of Grand Forks, North Dakota; one daughter, Kay ( Steve) Maurer of Clarence, Iowa; three sisters, Arlene (Wallace) Scott of Brooklyn, Iowa, Louise (William) Kuntz of Brooklyn, Iowa, and Isabel (Jack) Waterbeck of Hartwick, Iowa; two granddaughters, Christy Marie Keller and Julie Lynn Keller.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services for Harold “Pie” Keller were held at 11 AM, Friday, March 16, 1979, at the Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn, with Rev. Fred Pierce officiating.
