The body is lying in state at the Merkel-Ritger Funeral Home, where the Holy Name Society of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, of which Mr. Michaels was a member, will conduct a rosary service tonight at 8 o'clock. The general rosary service has been scheduled for Friday evening at 8:30 o'clock at the funeral home. Mr. Michels also was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.
The Rev. Edmund Cramer will officiate at the Requiem High Mass Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock at Sacred Heart Church, and burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery at Hillside.
A resident of Marshfield since retiring from farming about 12 years ago, Mr. Michels was born in St. Joe Nov. 17, 1873, and was married at Bakerville Oct. 30, 1894, to Margaret Nuber, who preceded him in death May 23, 1930 [sic].
Surviving are five children, Mrs. Anna Grosbier, Leo Michels, Mrs. Lawrence (Nora) McDonald. and Miss Helen, all of Marshfield, and Victor Michels, Milwaukee. An infant daughter also preceded him in death.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Anna Steffes, St. Cloud, and Mrs. Gertrude Kraemer, Oshkosh, and two brothers, Peter Michels, Fond du Lac, and Leonhard Michels, Oshkosh. A brother, Joseph, died.
