Susan Conrad, age 62, of Madison, Ohio was surrounded by her family when she passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016 at home. She was born December 10, 1953 in Washington D.C. to Thomas Hamilton Lewis IV and Jeannette (Owen) Lewis. She married Howard Conrad in Charleston, SC on February 6, 1974.
Susan graduated from Winston Churchill High School, Potomac, MD, in 1972 and then enlisted in the Naval Reserves and became a Radioman. She loved playing Bridge, sewing counted cross stitch, and preparing home cooked meals. Susan enjoyed art and liked to paint—until the kids came along and always got into the oil paints…. She had high expectations for her children, and would say, "if that's the best you can do—WONDERFUL, but if you know you can do better—then you better do it!" Susan had an incredible presence, and one always knew her opinions. She loved and cherished her children and was their greatest advocate.
Susan is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Howard; children, Jeannette (Jeffery) Wilson, Charlotte (Blake) Knisely, Robert (Megan) Conrad; grandchildren, James, Brittney, Anthony, Lauren, Cadence, Charles, Annabeth, Emma, William; siblings, Patty Lewis, Thomas H. Lewis V, and Robert T. Lewis. She is predeceased by her parents.
Visitation will be 10am to 12pm Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison OH, 44057. Funeral service will follow at 12 pm. Final resting place will be North Madison Cemetery.
