Richard Eighner was the son of Clarence J. and Marie M. (Grafelman) Eighner.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army, where he proudly served as a Para Trooper.
He was past president and charter member of Rankin Lions Club. He was a member of Rankin American Legion and a former member of Rankin Masonic Hall.

Dick along with his parents operated CJs Pump in Hoopeston for 25 years and owned and operated Dicks Place in Rankin for five years. He was formerly employed at Chanute Air Force Base for 12 years.

Dick enjoyed going to auctions, sporting events and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons; one granddaughter; three grandsons; two sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Jack, Ted and Mike Eighner.
