Clement Isaac Shinn, Jr., was born in Burlington County, New Hanover Township, New Jersey

He married Ruth (Bates) in New Jersey in 1774

Clement Shinn Jr. moved to Harrison County, Virginia (now WV) with his brother Levi Shinn Sr. and helped to start the town of Shinnston, WV. His homestead farm was on Shinn's Run of Middle Creek, about one mile from where the town of Shinnston was later laid out.

Clement Shinn, Jr. wrote his Last Will while living on Shinn's Runn in Harrison Co., (W.) Virginia, on 3 December 1805. [Harrison Co., WV, Will Book 2, pgs 222-225]

Clement Shinn Jr. died in January/February of 1806, and his Estate Inventory was presented in the Harrison County, VA, Court in the March 1806 term of court [Harrison Co., WV, Will Book 2, pgs 350-352]

The WILL of CLEMMENT SHINN SENIOR of Shinn's Run, Harrison County, Virginia, Yeoman, lists the following heirs:
my Dearly beloved wife Ruth Shinn, the third part of all my estate both real and personal
my son Joseph Shinn, 100 acres of land being part of 180 acres lying on both sides of the ridge between my home place and Shinn's Run so that the said balance of 80 acres be that side of the ridge that leads to Shinn's Run left for the support of my home place with timber running with the line of my home
my sons Moses Shinn, Daniel Shinn, Clemment Shinn, Edward Shinn, & Samuel Shinn, all the residue of my land to be equally divided among them
Hepzibah Shinn my oldest daughter married to Levi Shinn, $100
Ackey Shinn my youngest daughter, $135
my two youngest sons, Edward & Samuel Shinn
constitute & appoint my sons Moses Shinn & Daniel Shinn & Clement Shinn to administer his estate
