(Actress )
from 1927 - 1936

Son of Charles Henry and Rose B Twelevetress

Genealogyborn circa 1906. Clark died of a head injury when he fell on a curb after a man intervened, when he hit a woman.

Clark Twelvetrees was born c. 1906. He died on August 9, 1938 in New York at age 32. We know that Clark Twelvetrees had been residing in 123 E 30th St, in New York, New York County, New York United States 10016.
Parents were Charles H Twelvetrees (1872-1948) a well-known artist and illustrator who was known for his likenesses of cherubic faced children, and Rose B Clark (1879-1946). Clark was probably born in Manhattan.
He married Helen Marie Jurgens (1908-1958) also an actor on 28 Feb 1927 in Kings, New York, USA. but was divorced by 1931. Helen met Clark Twelvetrees shortly after she enrolled in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Helen said in an interview with Hollywood journalist Wood Soanes in 1932 that she spent three months at the Academy before joining Walker's Troupe where "It was in his company that I met Clark Twelvetrees and married him without consulting my family. We had known each other two entire weeks."
Their marriage ended in little more than three years as Clark was known to be a heavy drinker, and according to Helen, physically abusive.

Twelvetrees Jumps From Sixth Floor Hotel Window After Dinner Party

The police were mystified today over the action of Clark Twelvetrees, 22, an actor, living with his wife's family at 3614 Avenue I, who leaped from a sixth floor window of the Hotel Royalton, 44 W. 44th St., Manhattan, shortly after 8 o'clock last night while his wife and a friend were looking on.
No explanation could be obtained today from Mrs. Twelvetrees, now a professional dancer and once a student of Brooklyn Heights Seminary, who was at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Jurgen. Her mother said Mrs. Twelvetrees could not be disturbed and declined to clear up the mystery herself.
Twelvetrees in Hospital.
Twelvetrees was in Bellevenue Hospital, where it was said his condition was improved, although there was fear that he had permanently injured his spine when he struck the running board of a parked motorcar.
The Twelvetrees had been dinner guests of D. J. Healy, a friend, at the hotel and had gone to his apartment afterward. According to information reaching the police, the young actor had expressed despondency over his inability to obtain an engagement and had suddenly leaped from his chair, dashed to the window and leaped out.
Picked Self Up.
Mrs. Twelvetrees and Mr. Healy hurried to the street, where they found that Twelvetrees had managed to pick himself up; but when he saw his wife he collapsed in her arms. A large crowd gathered, police came on the run and an ambulance was summoned.
Wife Offers Blood.
A blood transfusion was decided upon at the hospital and Mrs. Twelvetrees offered her blood, but an examination revealed that it would not match and a professional donor was called.
The Twelvetrees have been married since last January.
