Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” July 27, 1935:
Mrs. Clara Pickett, 55, of Withrow street, Ottumwa route 4, died at her home Friday at 4:30 p.m.
She was the daughter of Willoughby and Serapta Orman and was born in Wapello County, October 16, 1879. She had lived here all her life.
Surviving are her husband, James; one daughter, Mrs. Priscilla Pearson of St. Joseph, Mo.; an adopted son, William Frederick Pickett at home; four brothers, William and Levi Orman of Ottumwa, John of Troy, and Charlie of Ottumwa; four sisters, Mrs. Myra Deitch, Mrs. Edna Buchholz, and Mrs. Olive Lunkley, all of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Myrtle Bowers of Floris, and three grandchildren. One daughter, Savanna, preceded her in death.
Short funeral services will be held at Johnson’s funeral chapel at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, and at 1 p.m. at the Pentecostal church, conducted by the Rev. A.D. McClure, pastor of the church. Burial will be made in Ormanville cemetery.
