Gloria W. Abshire age 90 of Ludington passed away on April 4, 2015 at the Village House in Ludington.
Gloria was born on August 12, 1924 in Mason County daughter of the late Floyd and Jenny (Swanson) McVicker. She attended and graduated from Mason County Central Schools.
On June 22, 1974 Gloria married Williard Abshire at the Scottville Bible Church. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2010. She retired from Stokely's Bean Factory.
She was a strong believer in her Christian Faith. She enjoyed her word searches and jigsaw puzzles, eating pizza, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She loved her flowers especially Gladiolas which her husband used to grow for her on his farm. She was extremely proud of her husband's awards from his tree conservation work.
She is survived by her nieces, Ruth (Ben) Spore and their children, Jenny, Josh, and B.J., Roxanne Olsen, Pat Sterzik, Ruth Mitchell and Peggy Abshire; nephews, Dexter (Lori) Ullmann, Andy Abshire, and Bill Abshire; numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins, and her very special friends, John and Lillian Hansen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Aliene (Rufus) Halcomb; brothers-in-law, John, Bob and Andy Abshire along with many cousins.
Funeral services for Gloria Abshire will be held on Thursday April 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Mark Hacker officiating. The family will receive guests for visitation from 9:00 AM until the time of services.
